Our Bishop

       Bishop Don Connell is a Texas native, along with his beloved wife of 45 years, Bernadean. Together they have two children and five grandchildren. Growing up in a dysfunctional family, Bishop Don considers his loving marriage, his children and grandchildren his greatest accomplishment in life. In 1977, Bishop Don was saved from a hedonistic lifestyle when he had a dramatic encounter with the Lord; leaving a small Texas town stunned at his radical conversion and love for Jesus Christ. Bishop Don has a B.S. in Religion from Dallas Baptist University, and a Masters in Counseling Psychology from Tarleton State University. Due to his expertise in many facets of religious and spiritual studies, he was awarded a Masters of Divinity from St. Benedict’s Seminary and a Doctor of Theology degree from the prestigious Oxford University in England. A minister for 44 years, Bishop Don has served people extensively here in the US, South American and Africa. In all he has ministered in 36 countries around the world and has planted and pastored several churches. For nearly 20 years he has served as Bishop of Christ the King Church in Weatherford, Texas. He enjoys golf, fishing, hunting and keeping up with his grandkids. His passion is 2-fold. 1. Jesus Christ and His kingdom 2. The ageless faith given by the Apostles, called Orthodoxy.
